Dental Exam & Cleaning
Preventive dentistry is the key to a beautiful and healthy smile. Professional dental exams and cleanings are all about preventing existing problems from getting worse and preventing dental problems from developing in the future. No matter how often you brush and floss, plaque and tartar can still build up on your teeth. The most effective way to remove these deposits is through regular dental exams and cleanings. For your oral wellness, your teeth should be cleaned and examed every six months. During your appointment the dedicated staff at Smile Li Dental will remove plaque, tartar and any superficial stains. Dr. Li will then exam your teeth and gums for signs of gum disease or other dental health problems.

Once bacteria have established themselves in the mouth, they will produce acidic by-products that create holes (cavities) in your teeth. The weakened tooth structure and bacterial infection must be removed to prevent the process from progressing. After removal of the infected tooth structure, we use only ADA (American Dental Association) approved materials includes gold, amalgam, porcelain, ceramic and also advanced composite. Using morden advanced coposite material, we can restore the look of natural teeth while make it strong and durable.

A crown is a “cap” used to cover the visible portion of a tooth. The crown restores the tooth to its normal shape, size and function. The purpose of a crown is to make the tooth stronger or improve the way it looks. A crown may be recommended if you have:

  • A cavity that is too large for a filling
  • A root canal treated tooth
  • A tooth that is cracked, weakened or worn
  • A tooth that is discolored or badly shaped and requires covering

Crowns are necessary for the support of a tooth and are often made of materials like porcelain and zirconia, depending on the reason for the crown.
A bridge may be used to replace missing teeth, help maintain the shape of your face, and alleviate stress on your bite. A bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, looks great, and literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been. Your bridge can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials and is bonded onto surrounding teeth for support. There are two basic types of bridges. A fixed bridge is a cemented bridge which remains in your mouth at all times and is supported by your natural teeth. Removable bridges (partials and full dentures) are removed from the mouth several times a day for cleaning and rest on the gum where the missing teeth are being replaced.

When tooth removal is necessary, we can perform simple and surgical extractions using local anesthesia. If you choose, we can also replace the missing teeth with dental implants.

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available -- complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. With new technology, we can create custom dentures that properly fit the contours of your mouth and look more natural than ever.
Dental implants are one of the best ways to replace missing teeth. A dental implant is a titanium post (like a tooth root) that issurgically positioned into the jawbone beneath the gum line. Once the bone joins with the implant (osseointegration), a crown (artificial tooth) may then be placed onto the implant(s). This allows us to mount replacement teeth, sometimes on the same day, or a bridge into that area. An implant doesn't come loose like a denture can.
Root Canal
Root canal therapy is designed to save teeth when the nerves have become infected. At that stage, the dental pulp must be removed and sealed to keep the infection from spreading to the jawbone or other teeth. With the use of advanced rotary technology, we can now perform one-hour root canal therapy, rendering a once feared procedure painless and convenient.
Teeth Whitening
The Philips Zoom teeth whitening system eliminates stains caused by aging and consumption of substances such as coffee, tea, tobacco, etc. Philips Zoom professional whitening is a fast, effective and safe way to whiten your teeth. Results from professional treatments can be immediate (up to 8 shades whiter in 45 minutes), and the process is safe, reliable and hassle free.
Invisible Braces
Straight teeth and a revitalized smile may no longer need to bear a mouth full of unattractive wire and bracket braces. Invisible braces are removable aligners so you can enjoy all the foods and activities you love, and brush and floss easily. No more pain from sharp brackets and wires and no injuries due to broken wires or brackets. Teens in treatment are 2x more likely to have a boost in self-esteem.
